Strengthen your smile with a simple procedure!

Both inlays and onlays are often referred to as partial crowns because they use the existing tooth as a base. This is done to strengthen the tooth, restore its shape, and prevent further damage. An only is done when there is no damage to the cusps of the tooth and can be placed directly onto the tooth. An inlay however is implemented when the damage is a little more extensive.

During the procedure, the decayed area of the tooth is first removed. A mold of the tooth is then taken and send to a dental lab where they create a restoration made from porcelain, gold, or a composite resin. This can take about 2-3 weeks to make, so during this time a temporary inlay will be placed on the tooth. During the next visit the inlay can finally be set and it will be held with dental cement to prevent it from coming off. Your tooth will not only look and feel natural, but will be stronger and healthier than it was.
